Influence of Working Memory for Sentence Interpretation in Second Language
(IRB#: IRB_00187409)
Word Memory capacity (WMC) varies based on the language a person uses. Second language English speakers generally require more cognitive demands in tasks compared to native English speakers. However, stronger English skills are linked to better WMC. This study wants to see how Working Memory influences sentence interpretation in Second language English speakers. People in the study will complete cognitive tests to recall information, read several sentences and answer questions about the sentences, and share personal and educational background. Being in the study lasts about 30 minutes.
