Testing Povorcitinib for People with Prurigo Nodularis

(IRB#: IRB_00180878)

Prurigo Nodularis is a chronic skin condition known by the presence of hard, extremely itchy bumps known as nodules, which result from persistent, intense scratching and rubbing of the skin. This study will test a drug called Povorcitinib to treat people with this condition. The study wants to see if the drug will help people with the condition and is safe. People in the study will be randomly chosen to be treated with one of two doses of Povorcitinib or a placebo. The placebo looks like the study drug but does not have the medication. Later in the study, people in the placebo group will receive one of two doses of Povorcitinib. Being in the study requires attending up to about 15 in-person visits at the study clinic and two phone or video calls over 13 months. Participants will also write daily in an electronic diary. Medical tests will be done to track the health of participants.
