Testing a Study Drug Efgartigimod for Adults with Bullous Pemphigoid

(IRB#: IRB_00154051)

Bullous Pemphigoid is a painful blistering disease. This study will test Efgartigimod to treat adults and adolescents with this disease. The study will see if the drug will help people with the disease and is safe. People in the study will be randomly chosen to be treated with efgartigimod or a placebo. The placebo looks like the drug but does not have the medication. The drug and placebo are taken as subcutaneous injections. Being in the study requires multiple ways of participation such as completing a study diary and attending in person at a study clinic for about 2 years. Medical tests will be done during the study to track the health of participants.
