Study for People with Essential and Vocal Tremors

(IRB#: IRB_00118469)

Tremors occur when a persons body shakes or moves involuntary. This study will better understand the impact of tremor movement on the parts of the body that are used for speech and voice known as vocal tremor. The information learned will help improve methods for identifying and treating people with vocal tremor. People in the study will share medical records and complete a voice evaluation that takes about 90 minutes. Participants will then complete 2 recording sessions that involve completing surveys, recording breathing, throat muscle activity, and imagining the throat while breathing and talking. The total time spent in the study lasts about 5.5 hours.
